Houston InsightsSeptember 22, 2005
We are going to be unable to get out of Houston. The roads are grid locked. People are sitting in their cars on the roadways, some for more than 12 hours trying to get out of town and only moving 18 miles, some only 5 miles. They are telling people to turn around if they can and go home. The city is almost out of gasoline and cars are running out sitting in traffic. We will be weathering the Hurricane in our boarded up home. We will go out today to get as much food as we can and fill our bath tubs with water. My brother who lives up in Houston is stuck with his pregnant wife. Pray for us family, we are in dire need of your prayers to heaven at this time. The Hurricane has shifted and will come almost directly over Houston. This may be better for us in terms of Tornado's, but we still have to contend with flooding. I will keep you all posted as long as possible. Thank you for being there for us. Daphne
2nd message a few minutes later:
All the local grocery stores are closed now as well as the gas stations. We will have to make do with what we have. I had to tell our son John who is 13 we are staying, and he seems not to be afraid. That is a blessing for sure, now if I can just get the cat to calm down. LOL. I am not afraid either. I know it will probably be scary, but the L-rd will protect us. Talk to you soon. Daphne |
